What's the Contrast?
While Graphics Design focuses more on the process of visual communication and problem-solving through the use of typography, photography and illustration, Information Design is the practice of presenting information through graphical content in a way it would furnish an efficient and effective understanding of it.
Here's an example of a Graphics Design.The photo on the left has some photo manipulation going on. Part of the essence of Graphics Design is editing the some parts of the photo to make the photo more appealing or entertaining. For an instance, some photo editors edit their photos in a silly, yet in a creative way.
Here's an example of an Information Design.The photo on the right shows some tips on how to be safe on the road as a pedestrian. The photo creatively shows information through graphical contents without compromising its purpose. Information Design helps convey information to the public without having such boring and a dull presentation.
